Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil&Gas, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.74%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.82%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.31% or 1.26 points to trade at 97.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) added 0.63% or 1.30 points to end at 207.70 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 0.42% or 2.40 points to 580.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 6.13% or 1.30 points to trade at 19.90 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) declined 5.30% or 2.76 points to end at 49.30 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was down 5.27% or 2.81 points to 50.47.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which rose 1.31% to 97.10, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was up 1.04% to settle at 290.50 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which gained 0.63% to close at 207.70.

The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 16.11% to 5.62 in late trade, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which lost 8.01% to settle at 85.60 and Rexel (EPA:RXL) which was down 7.43% to 20.32 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 422 to 129 and 78 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.63% or 1.30 to 207.70. Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; losing 16.11% or 1.08 to 5.62. Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.63% or 1.30 to 207.70.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.69% or 13.70 to $1,982.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.97% or 0.68 to hit $69.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.89 to trade at $75.02 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 102.75.
