Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil&Gas, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.65% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index unchanged 0.00%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 2.53% or 10.15 points to trade at 411.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.10% or 0.81 points to end at 39.31 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 1.88% or 35.40 points to 1,915.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 4.78% or 6.70 points to trade at 133.50 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) declined 2.36% or 1.72 points to end at 71.18 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.43% or 0.36 points to 24.83.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which rose 14.53% to 272.00, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 6.09% to settle at 3.69 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 5.15% to close at 28.78.

The worst performers were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 8.53% to 166.30 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 4.78% to settle at 133.50 and Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which was down 2.81% to 183.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 273 to 243 and 103 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 5.25 to $1,965.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.86% or 1.41 to hit $77.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 1.31 to trade at $80.95 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.79.
